Republic of Turkey Hosted "WHO Ministerial Conference On Counteracting Obesity" A Significant Milestone in The Challenge Against Obesity - Letter to the Editor

Abstract
Health Ministers of World Health Organization (WHO) European region gathered in İstanbul in WHO Ministerial Conference on Counteracting Obesity, hosted by Turkish Government together with WHO on 15-17 November 2006.Member states adopted the European Charter on Counteracting Obesity during the conference, which will provide the political guidance to strengthen action in the region. One of the most significant outcomes of the conference was the integration of a new action plan, the European Charter on Counteracting Obesity, into government policies by all 53 countries in the WHO European region.
