Dear Colleagues,
In this last issue of 2010, I would like to give the following information. Turk JEM has been regularly published as a result of increasing interest as well as the valuable support and contributions of our colleagues from Turkey and abroad. Besides, a supplement issue on the topic of diabetes has been released in September. From now on, supplement issues on specific topics are expected to be published. Our journal covering research studies, case reports and articles by our young colleagues will undoubtedly contribute to the evolution of their academic life. The success in issuing the Turk JEM regularly is an evidence of development and progress of endocrinology in our country.
The 32nd National Congress of Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases was successfully held between 13th and 17th October 2010 in Antalya. Oral and poster presentations by Turkish and foreign speakers, conferences, panels, and a presentation entitled “Consult Specialist of the Symposium” took place in the Congress, with the attendance of 544 participants. Thus, various subjects of endocrinology were discussed and updated.
In November 2010, the regular General Assembly of our Association was held and new board members were elected. Prof.Dr .Sadi Gündoğdu assigned as the new President of our Association and Owner of Turk JEM ,succeeded former President Prof. Dr. Sema Akalın.We are continuing our mission as the editorial board: Myself, Prof. Dr. Nilgün Başkal, as the Editor-in-Chief and Prof. Dr. Neşe Çolak, Prof. Dr. Abdurrahman Çömlekci and Prof. Dr. Murat Faik Erdoğan as the Associate Editors. This last issue of Turk JEM covers research and case reports that will hopefully attract your attention . Hereby, I would like to pay special tribute to all our esteemed colleagues who support our Journal, to the reviewers for their valuable and meticulous evaluations and comments, to our Statistical Consultant Prof. Dr. Atilla Elhan, to our English Editors İlke Erkeskin and Maria Erkeskin, as well as to Erkan Mor representing the publishing house Galenos.
