Dear Colleagues, 

Science of Endocrinology has developed remarkably in recent years both in Turkey and worldwide. In view of numerous research and  developments within a broad perspective the importance of endocrinology is far better understood and appreciated currently.

In Turkey, the number of endocrinologists have increased significantly and the interactions within the internatioanal fora has reached an outstanding dimension.

Turkey hosted the  11th European Congress of Endocrinology ( ECE 2009 ) in April 2009 in İstanbul with the participation of 2300 specialists from 88 countries. The ECE 2009, which covered so many  symposiums, lectures, meet the expert sessions and oral communications, was held successfully both in terms of scientific knowledge and in social interaction.

The Turkish Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism (Turk JEM ) which  is the official quarterly periodical of the Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism of Turkey, was being recognised recently, in view of international assesments, by Index Copernicus,  Embase and SCOPUS  indexes as well. If  Turk JEM  will be enriched within the contribution of original papers, articles and research studies and the issues will be published in due time intervals, we are of the opinion that it will reach to higher echelons in medical science.
